INTRODUCTION TO CIC

The Community Impact Council is here to create lasting economic impact by turning workers into business owners, uplifting communities, and generating wealth that spans generations. By collaborating with philanthropists, entrepreneurs, and community organizations, CIC is building a brighter future for all of Columbus.

Three core pillars

Impactful workforce development

We are dedicated to fostering workforce development programs that equip adults and youth with the skills they need to succeed in today’s economy. By empowering individuals with opportunities to grow their skills, we are building stronger, more resilient communities that are ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow.

Entrepreneurial Empowerment

We support entrepreneurial initiatives that help local businesses and entrepreneurs build sustainable, generational wealth. Our focus is on providing resources and guidance to those looking to start or grow businesses in their communities, ensuring long-term economic prosperity for generations to come.

Employee-Owned

Co-Op Growth

We believe that employee-owned businesses are key to building lasting wealth and job security. CIC actively works with organizations that aim to cultivate co-op models, giving workers the opportunity to become co-owners and shape the future of their companies. Together, we are creating businesses that are not only profitable but deeply rooted in community success.

From Worker to Owner—Creating Lasting Wealth Through Employee Ownership

The Community Impact Fund is CIC’s first major initiative, designed to support the transition of businesses to employee-owned cooperatives. By training workers into owners, this fund helps build sustainable wealth, providing employees with greater job security, decision-making power, and long-term financial stability.
